Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgeon

Abel Giorgis M.D. is a cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon who has joined the Lexington Plastic Surgeons Maryland office. He is a Candidate member of the American society of plastic surgery, American College of Surgeons, American Burn Association, American Medical Association, and the Pan-American Trauma Society.

Dr. Giorgis is a graduate of Salisbury University, The University of Maryland, College Park, and Howard University College of Medicine. He received the Margaret and William Nash Merit Scholarship and Howard University Board of Trustees Merit Scholarship. Dr. Giorgis completed his accredited and formal Residency in General Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. He attended the Medical College of Virginia, Evans-Haynes Burn Center completing a fellowship in Burn Surgery. He then completed his Plastic Surgery fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Giorgis is committed to helping his patients achieve their aesthetic and reconstructive goals via both surgical and non-surgical techniques. He truly listens and understands that each patient has a unique desired outcome. Dr. Giorgis is passionate about mentoring children, and in his spare time he coaches inner city youth in soccer, math, and the sciences. Dr. Giorgis is fluent in Amharic, and is able to translate and interpret medical information.
