DR. ROBERTO MENDEZ

Roberto J. Mendez M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board certified plastic surgeon who brings over 20 years of experience to our Lexington Plastic Surgeons’ Miami office. Dr. Mendez is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (A.S.P.S.) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (A.S.A.P.S.).
In addition, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Mendez specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery including transaxillary breast augmentation(performed without scars in the breasts), mommy makeovers, as well as body contouring procedures such as liposuction and tummy tucks.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dr. Mendez is graduate of Saint Louis University and Ponce School of Medicine, achieving honors in Surgery and Radiology. Dr. Mendez completed his accredited and formal Residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit,
Michigan, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his general surgery training at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. During his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency Dr. Mendez trained at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital in New York, where he trained with Sherrell Aston M.D., Daniel Baker, M.D., David Hidalgo, M.D., Gerald Pitman, M.D., Glenn Jelks, M.D. and Alan Matarasso, M.D., who are among the world’s leading experts in aesthetic plastic surgery as well as with Dennis Hammond, M.D, world renowned plastic surgeon for breast surgical procedures in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Dr. Mendez is a devoted husband and father who enjoys spending quality time and building his legacy with his wife, Liana and two sons. He is an accomplished athlete and runner, having completed hundreds of 5k, 10k, half marathons, Ironman, Triathlons and Ultramarathons. Dr. Mendez’s philosophy is to dedicate as much time to his patients and providing a great experience with the most natural aesthetic results while making the patients look and feel better with themselves.
